Angels of Light are an experimental group that was formed by singer, songwriter and guitarist Michael Gira after he disbanded Swans. Featuring a ever changing list of collaborators , including Kid Congo Powers, Devendra Banhart, Akron/Family, Larry Mullins and Dana Schechter, Angels of Light marked a distinctly different style for Gira compared to his work with Swans, most noticeably a more melodic and less brutal approach to songwriting.

Based around the core elements of Gira’s folky acoustic guitar playing and stark but beautiful lyrics and music, Angels Of Light have released seven albums to date, all on Gira’s own Young God Records.
