Bright Light Bright Light is the moniker of Welsh born, NYC residing Rod Thomas who draws his name from 80s cult film Gremlins. He’s toured the world with Elton John, the US with John Grant, the UK with Scissor Sisters and Ellie Goulding, and released three critically-acclaimed albums including 2016’s ‘Choreography’ which is inspired by his favourite filmic dance sequences and broke into the UK and US charts.

Potentially one of the most independent “pop” musicians around, he is his own label, manager, creative director and tour manager, and recently was the first unsigned act to perform on Graham Norton’s BBC One TV show. Described by NME as “the boy Robyn in all but name” and by The Guardian as “completely irresistible”, his music is a blend of electronica and pop that has won fans of Pet Shop Boys, Elton John, Graham Norton (whose TV show he launched his most recent album on) and RuPaul’s Drag Race judge Michelle Visage among countless critics at Rolling Stone, Time Out, MOJO and Uncut who have praised his work.

His non-Bright Light Bright Light composition work has been used by Sony Ericsson, DFS, The Inbetweeners, countless TV shows and in feature film ‘The Romantics’.

He’s also a much-loved DJ, running his ‘Romy & Michele’s Saturday Afternoon Tea Dance’ in Brooklyn, making mixes for Clash, BUTT and Ministry of Sound, and remixing Erasure, Kelis, Julia Fordham, James Yuill and VV Brown.
