Bruce Gilbert is an English experimental noise musician and a founding member of influential art-punk band Wire. Coming from an art school background, Gilbert found a niche in the budding avant-garde music set of the late sixties, becoming one of the pioneers of the experimental noise scene, before going on to form Wire in 1976.

After 3 innovative albums with Wire, the band temporarily disbanded at the start of the eighties and Gilbert went on to form the group Dome with bassist Martin Lewis who performed at art galleries with visual displays allowing for audience interaction.

Bruce Gilbert has since gone on to release several experimental solo works that explore his fascination with the possibilities of sounds and worked on commissions that saw him create music for modern dance performances, as well as becoming a fixture in London’s techno clubs in the nineties, DJing and remixing under the name DJ Beekeeper.
