Gallon Drunk

Gallon Drunk are a dark and literate alternative rock band formed in 1990 in London, England.

Best know for intricately mixing influences from swamp rock to punk to jazz to literary references, every single that the band released throughout their career achieved “Single Of The Week” status in either the NME or Melody Maker.

Gallon Drunk have released sevenstudio albums to date, the debut ‘You, The Night… and the Music’ (1992), the Mercury Prize nominated ‘From The Heart Of Town’ (1993), ‘In The Long Still Night’ (1996), ‘Black Milk’ (1999), ‘Fire Music’ (2002), ‘The Rotten Mile’ (2007) & ‘The Road Gets Darker From Here’ (2012)

Founder, frontman and sole consistent member James Johnston has also played in Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, with whom he joined briefly in 1994, before serving as a full-time member from 2003 to 2008. Johnston has also collaborated with a wide variety of other musicians and groups, as well as contributing scores to numerous film and TV projects.
