Howard Devoto

Howard Devoto is a post-punk legend. Shortly after co-founding Manchester’s seminal Buzzcocks in 1977, Devoto left the band to create a truly new and original sound with Magazine. The impact and influence of Magazine on the post-punk musical landscape is still felt today.

After releasing five ground-breaking albums with Magazine, Devoto recorded the solo album ‘Jerky Versions of the Dream’ in 1983, before going on to released two albums in the late eighties as part of the collaboration Luxuria.

In 2001 Devoto worked with Buzzcocks’ Pete Shelly for the first time in 25 years on the album ‘Buzzkunst’ (released under the name ShellyDevoto) and in 2009 re-united with Magazine for a spectacular and much-longed for reunion tour.
