Lora Logic is a British songwriter, saxophonist and singer.
A founder member of seminal UK punk band X-Ray Spex when she was just 15 years old, Lora went on to form Essential Logic and create some of the most liberating and exciting music of the early post-punk era.
Briefly, also a member of Red Crayola, Lora’s saxophone lent a unique quality to the bands she was in and she also played on recordings by The Raincoats, The Stranglers, Kollaa Kestää, Dennis Bovell, Swell Maps, and later, Boy George.
During the recording of the second Essential Logic album, the group broke up, and she finished the recording as a solo Lora Logic album, ‘Pedigree Charm’.
Lora left the music industry in the early 1980s to experience Hare Krishna temple life. She spent some time in Bhaktivedanta Manor, a mansion donated to the Hare Krishnas by George Harrison.
In 2003, the Kill Rock Stars label reissued most of the early Essential Logic material, alongside previously unreleased recordings by Logic and a new generation became aware of the artist’s incredible creative output.
Lora continues to make music, with a new album in the works.
