Miranda Sex Garden

Formed in 1990, Miranda Sex Garden were a unique band who’s music was characterized by a capella madrigals, ethereal ambience and gothic rock.

Their first album, ‘Madra’ (1991), was entirely a capella, containing songs all based on traditional English verse. The  Miranda Sex Garden sound evolved  with their second release, ‘Iris’(1992), where the madrigal-styled vocals of  their debut were mixed with sounds reminiscent of gothic rock, darkwave and industrial music.

The band continued to develop its sound over the course of their career, moving into a heavier direction, pitting their smooth vocals upon layers of distortion, feedback, and heavy drums. They went on to release two further albums ‘Fairytales of Slavery’ (1994) and ‘Carnival of Souls’ (2000).
