Pan Sonic

Pan Sonic is a Finnish experimental electronic music duo formed in 1993 consisting of Mika Vainio and Ilpo Vaisanen. Originally called Panasonic, the duo were forced to change their name by the Japanese corporation they shared it with. The missing “A” in their new name formed the title of their next album.

The minimalistic music of Pan Sonic is composed from a forbidding array of pure tones, sinewaves, pulses, electronic squelches and ultrasonic waveforms, and a humorous attitude, skilfully arranged into an accessible rhythmic package.
