Stubbleman is the alter ego of Belgian-British composer and producer Pascal Gabriel, known for his genre-defying career.
From a punk background, he became akey figure in the late ’80s UK Acid House/Breakbeatscene, co-writing”Theme from S’Express”and “Beat Dis”before working with artists like Goldfrapp, EMF, Dido, Can, and Kylie.
Returning to his electronic roots, he created Stubbleman, blending modular synthesis, found sounds, and live instrumentation. His debut album, Mountains and Plains, captured the vast landscapes of a U.S. road trip in an ambient soundscape.
His second album, 1:46:43 -The Ventoux Trilogy, transforms the legendary Mont Ventoux cycling ascent into music, using real-time ride data to drive evolving synthsequences. More than simply a cycling soundtrack, it’s a meditation on endurance, solitude, a sonic reflection on life itself.
