An innovative and influential band, A Certain Ratio were one of the original Factory Records acts that played an important role in defining the sound of the Manchester scene. Forming in 1977, their addition of funk and dance elements to the prevailing post-punk sound marked them out as truly unique and has seen them as an important influence to everyone from The Happy Mondays to LCD Soundsystem.

Between 1979 and 1997 the band released 8 studio albums. After a 10 year hiatus they released Mind Made Up in 2008 that saw the return of their signature sound. The current line-up sees original members Jez Kerr and Martin Moscrop teamed with Liam Mullan, Tony Quigley and Donald Johnson and sees a renewed focus on songwriting and touring.
