Kristina Esfandiari is New York/LA-based Iranian singer-songwriter and producer best known for her band King Woman which has been highly esteemed by Pitchfork and Rolling Stone.
In her early years as a performer, Esfandiari became well-known for her heavy and dramatic vocals during live shows. She writes music and performs under the monikers: Miserable, KRIS, Dalmatian, Sugar High and NGHTCRWLR.
Blending drone, shoegaze, and doom metal with more ethereal influences, King Woman began as the solo project of Kristina Esfandiari in 2009 before becoming a full-fledged band in 2017 with the release of ‘Created in the Image of Suffering’. Four years later the group returned with the dynamic ‘Celestial Blues’, which added elements of post-rock and grunge to their sonic arsenal.
She is currently working on her debut rap album for her project Dalmatian and premiered her acting debut in Boy Harsher’s ‘The Runner’ in early 2022.
