Francis Macdonald is a Scottish BAFTA-nominated composer and songwriter and drummer with Teenage Fanclub.

Francis has released a series of critically acclaimed classical recordings, most notably 2015’s ‘Music for String Quartet, Piano and Celeste’, described as “sublime, minimalist classical music” by Classic FM and “nice” by Jarvis Cocker (BBC 6music) and 2018’s “Hamilton Mausoleum Suite”; an album of chamber music performed by soloists from the Scottish Festival Orchestra in the historic Hamilton Mausoleum, one of the most reverberant buildings in the world.

He has worked with a host of artists in various capacities, including Laura Cantrell, Julie Fowlis, Camera Obscura, Edwyn Collins, Ian McCulloch, Robert Forster, Kevin Ayers, Kim Fowley, The Vaselines, Belle & Sebastian, Alex Chilton, Dan Penn and Max Richter.
