Boyd Rice / NON
Boyd Rice is an American experimental sound artist, archivist, actor, photographer, writer, and provocateur, best known for his work under the name NON. Emerging from the early industrial and avant-garde experimental music scenes, he is associated with the development of industrial noise music from the 1970s onward. Beyond music, his work spans photography, writing, and cultural commentary, including explorations of subcultural and cult film material. His multidisciplinary practice and provocative public persona have made him a notable figure within American underground art circles. Alternately amusing, insightful, confrontational and offensive, Boyd has proven one of the most consistently influential and contentious characters of the last 50 years of American counterculture.
