Coil were an English experimental music group founded by John Balance and developed with Peter Christopherson. Their influential work fused experimental sound with themes of the occult, sexuality, alchemy, and altered states, shaping post-industrial, dark ambient, neofolk, and gothic music through an uncompromising and distinctive artistic vision.
