Halvcirkel

Halvcirkel is a Danish string trio based in Copenhagen, formed by violist Mika Persdotter, violinist Bettina Marie Ezaki and cellist Nicole Hogstrand. Working at the intersection of contemporary and post-classical music, the ensemble explores expanded string techniques and textural interplay to create immersive, detail-rich compositions shaped by contrast and resonance. Their repertoire includes original works that draw on Nordic landscapes as well as reinterpretations of music by composers such as Shostakovich and Philip Glass, alongside collaborations with artists including Henrik Lindstrand, Signe Lykke and Hania Rani. Halvcirkel’s practice reflects a broad artistic dialogue between composition, environment and experimental performance.
