Jon Gibson
Jon Gibson (1940 – 2020) was an American avant-garde reed player, flutist, saxophonist, composer, and visual artist associated with minimalist music and was a founding member of the Philip Glass Ensemble. Known for performances of works by Philip Glass, Steve Reich, Terry Riley, and La Monte Young, his compositional works span tape pieces, solo wind works, opera, and soundscape-based drone compositions blending environmental recordings and improvisation.
