Large Number

Large Number is the solo electronic project of Ann Shenton, formerly of Add N to (X), through which she continues to explore experimental electronic composition and the relationship between human performance and machine-driven sound. Her work draws on analogue synthesis, including theremin, Moog and MS20 systems, alongside vintage drum machines, combined with influences that extend into progressive and folk-informed textures. The project reflects a hybrid approach to sound design that balances mechanical precision with organic sensibility. Shenton has also composed music for broadcast work, including the award-recognised BBC Radio programme ‘First Impressions’.
