Looper

Looper is a Scottish indie-pop band fronted by Stuart David, co-founder of Belle and Sebastian, known for combining melodic songwriting with experimental visual and multimedia elements. The project was formed in Glasgow and initially brought together David and his wife Karn, whose work contributed visual components including projections and film-based performance art, before expanding into a full band with Ronnie Black and Scott Twynholm. Across early releases such as ‘Up a Tree’, ‘The Geometrid’ and ‘The Snare’, Looper developed a distinctive sound that blended indie-pop structures with lo-fi and electronic textures. Their music has appeared in a range of film, television and advertising contexts, with tracks such as “Mondo ’77” and “My Robot” gaining notable cultural visibility.
