Mining

MINING was the artistic vision of British sailor, investment banker, and data scientist Craig Kirkpatrick-Whitby (1964-2024), bringing together programmers, improvising musicians, graphic designers and photographers to transform complex data into immersive sonic works. Developed with sound designer PJ Davy, the project combined data sonification with instinctive performance by Matthew Bourne, whose piano, cello and Memorymoog synthesiser shape a richly textured, exploratory sound world.
