Nitzer Ebb

Nitzer Ebb are an English EBM group formed in Essex by Vaughn Harris, Douglas McCarthy, and David Gooday. Emerging in the early 1980s, they developed a distinctive sound defined by driving rhythms, stark electronic textures, and forceful, chant-like vocals, drawing from industrial, electronic, and post-punk influences. Their recordings, including ‘That Total Age’, ‘Belief’, ‘Showtime’, and ‘Ebbhead’, helped shape the development of EMB and industrial music. After an initial period of activity followed by a hiatus, Harris and McCarthy resumed performing and touring under the Nitzer Ebb name, maintaining the project’s presence within the broader electronic and alternative music landscape.
