Robert Macfarlane

Robert Macfarlane is a British writer best known for his books on landscape, nature, place, language and people. Alongside his literary work, he has developed an ongoing practice as a lyricist, librettist and spoken-word performer, collaborating with musicians including Johnny Flynn, with whom he created Lost in the Cedar Wood and The Moon Also Rises. He has also worked with Hayden Thorpe and contributed librettos for opera and choral projects, extending his writing into contemporary musical forms.
