Sunn O))) is an American drone metal band formed in Seattle and led by core members Stephen O’Malley and Greg Anderson. Their music explores extremely slow tempos, heavily distorted low-register guitars, resonant feedback and minimal rhythmic structure, blending elements of doom, drone, black metal and dark ambient. Known for immersive, high-intensity soundscapes and a distinctive visual presentation, the band is widely associated with the development of experimental approaches to heavy music.
