Stephen Coates is a London based composer and music producer.

His credits include Amnesty International, BBC, HBO, Fox, Channel 4, Showtime, ABC, Warner, Rockstar
Games, The British Film Institute, Victoria and Albert Museum, Tate London and authors Stephen King and
Glen Duncan.

Stephen records and performs live as cult band The Real Tuesday Weld with whom he has made eight
critically acclaimed albums and toured internationally. Their videos have multi-million views.

Their songs have been used in many films and TV series including Ray Donovan, Shameless, Weeds, Nip
and Tuck, Ugly Betty, Malcolm in the Middle, Jay Leno, Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist.

Stephen has scored numerous animations, features, shorts, documentaries, commercial spots, and art
projects in the US and Europe.

He has provided music for many commercials including spots for Apple, Toyota, Chevrolet, Levis, Hewlett
Packard, Lucozade, Converse, Prudential, Gerbers, and Gundersens.
He wrote the original songs for blockbuster game “LA Noire’ and has remixed artists including Duke
Ellington, Count Basie, The Puppini Sisters, David Byrne, and Bebel Gilberto.
He is a bespoke writer, remixer, and producer and composes for music libraries including EMI, Extreme, Lo
Editions, West One, and Velvet Ears.

Stephen is the presenter of Soho Radio’s Bureau of Lost Culture show dedicated to broadcasting
countercultural stories and oral testimonies.

His X-Ray Audio Project devoted to underground music in the USSR is now a book, an award-winning film,
BBC documentary and touring exhibition
