Matthew Cooper is a composer from the Pacific Northwest known for his fusion of cinematic, ambient, classical, experimental, and electronic composition. His music has been featured in films, television, and shorts including work for HBO, Showtime, Universal, Apple TV+ and Sundance award-winning films.

As Eluvium, he creates patient, high-definition ambient sounds, often centered around hauntingly minimal piano. His massive and evolving body of work began in the early 2000s with heavily processed guitar drones and gradually expanded to include more electronic and classically influenced sounds. Eluvium synthesized all of his different approaches on his epic 2013 double album Nightmare Ending and continued exploring new modes of reflective instrumental composition on albums like 2023’s (Whirring Marvels In) Consensus Reality.
