It all comes up words-first for the West Yorkshire native now London resident Emmeline,
who merges speech, song, and alternative hip-hop delivery to the soundscape of dark,
industrial beats. Emerging from Manchester’s spoken word collective Young Identity at the
early age of seventeen, Emmeline has since collaborated with some of UK’s most exciting
producers, including Ash Workman (Christine and The Queens), Dom Valentino (Skepta,
Loyle Carner), and Fraser T. Smith (Stormzy, Dave). Working closely with indie record label
Lewis Recordings, talent agency WME, as well as United Agents for a book proposal and
Transmission Roundhouse for her own podcast, she has made a name for herself in both the
music and literary worlds, at live showcases and underground cyphers, having opened for
The Streets, and being named by the Guardian as ‘One to Watch’.
